The Princess Royal has 525 beds and day case facilities – the thoughtful design has outpatient services adjacent to the public parking at the front of the hospital. Buses drive onto site for drop off and pick-up. The inpatient beds are to the rear of the site overlooking common land or courtyards giving maximum natural light. The clinical service areas (imaging, pathology, laboratory, pharmacy and sterilising departments occupy the centre of the building. There are discreet parent and child entrance for access to paediatric and maternity departments.

Our services at Orpington Hospital include rehabilitation and therapy services, intermediate care services, specialist rehabilitation, eg stroke, outpatient and diagnostic services including dermatology and diabetes, pharmacy inpatient and outpatient services.
Our £8m Orpington Treatment Centre (OTC) based in Orpington Hospital opened in October 2003 with two theatres and 66 beds and was developed to support the achievement of NHS Plan targets. We also have 40 intermediate care beds at Orpington Hospital.

We deliver comprehensive outpatient and diagnostic services at Beckenham. A major redevelopment project is underway which is funded through Bromley PCT’s Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) scheme. This will ensure modern accommodation for primary and secondary care for the future.
